My first adventure post-retirement was a long cycling trip up the coast of Florida. I drove from Charlotte to the Jacksonville Amtrak station, trained to Miami and did a 5.5 day ride up the Florida coast. I used AirBnB for my evening stays. Overall it was a great ride, mostly safe roads with the Atlantic off my right shoulder. I did this ride the first week of November which was perfect weather. Only 1 windy day which turned out to be on my longest 80 mile day. I used the touring bike which weighed about 58 lbs. fully loaded.
